Day-Time Wedding Makeup

Even if you’re a no-makeup kinda gal, it’s wise to use makeup to enhance your features if you want to look your best in the photographs and video. Photography, especially flash photography, has a way of flattening features and enhancing all those things you don’t like about your face. So it’s wise to put yourself in the hands of a professional and work with her or him on the look you like. You’ll need less makeup for a day-time wedding than a night-time wedding, but there are still some things to watch out for.

For example, don’t let the artist apply anything too light or shimmery on your brow bone. It will act like a mirror when the flash goes off. Be sure that your mascara isn’t too heavy or clumped. Take the time to separate lashes. In close-ups, you’ll be amazed how the viewer’s eye is drawn to badly applied mascara. Avoid a lip color that is in too much contrast to your skin tone. The camera has a hard time adjusting for contrasts and the result can be muddy.

And speaking of muddy, please, please, please don’t go to the tanning booth. Pale skin looks so much better in photographs. Tanned skin will look leathery and unnatural and set up a contrast with your dress.

One general rule is that if you’re wearing pure white, pinks and lilacs in your makeup will look the most flattering. If you’re in off-white, choose peaches and apricots. Our makeup has a very water resistant rating, so don’t worry about crying it off.

Thanks for the tips Jane! I have a wedding to go to in a couple weeks so these tips really helped me out...I was planning on hitting the tanning bed. Thanks again for the helpful tips.

I will try the eye shadows in White, Peach Sherbet, and Lilac Haze. Any tips from Jane are very helpful. Thanks.

Interesting that you mentioned shimmers on the brow bone. I also try to avoid anything shimmery on the T-zone. Fine for evening glamour, but oily-shiny in daytime Wedding photos!

I like all 4 colors in the Moonglow Quad as eye shadows. They look flattering on all skin tones, and can be used as a blush. There are plenty of colors to play with, and the colors are not too light.

I must tell you this, Jane.

On Thursday, Sept. 21st, I attended the Jane Iredale makeup demo at Dr. Maria Ariano's office in Wheaton, Illinois. Although I was aware of and interested in mineral makeups, I did not specifically know of your makeup line at that time.

I saw a beautiful, elegant, and so-serene woman sitting in a chair against the window wall of the makeup demo area. I thought to myself, "I wonder why she is here. Her make up is absolutely gorgeous. She glows."

I could not stay long enough to have makeup applied nor hence to purchase. But I couldn't forget seeing the beauty being brought out on every woman on whom the make up was applied by your knowledgeable makeup artist.

I took the brochures home. Today I googled the line.

Oh, my!

The gorgeous woman who glowed was YOU!!!

For sure I am buying the products.

P.S. I wish I had told you how beautiful you are. But, I just did.

I love shimmer eyeshadows, and I have always wanted to try the matte finish eyeshadows. Thanks for this tip.

My favorite color of clothing to wear is white, because my skin is so fair. My skin tone is naturally a pinkish white color. I don’t like tanning booths, because they just give me freckles. I tried the Mystic Tan, and I like my natural skin tone better than the outcome of that rout. The brightness of the color white actually makes my skin tone look tan, and even. I’ve never tried these eye shadow colors, and I’m very anxious to. White complements me, so I complement white.

It's very wise to find a professional that you like, but this Mineral Makeup is so easy for beginners to use as well.

Dear Jane,

I'm a columnist for Rayli China, the most influential fashion magazine in China. And I'm writing a story on mineral makeup and Jane Iredale. Would you mind to provide with me for some of the high-quality new products photos, like foundation, lipstick or eyeshadows for reference.

Thank you very much!

Kate

This makeup looks like you're aren't wearing any, but with lots of coverage.

The wonderful fact about Jane Iredale's products is that it looks like you're not wearing any makeup even after it's applied. You just look natuaral, because it's one of the best Mineral makeups out there.

I didn't realize that this makeup was so water resistent.

What makes an ingredient natural? More and more leading make-up companies are responding to the demands of today's

educated market and offering their customers make-up containing natural and organic ingredients. Women - and more and

more men - are realizing the benefits of leaving behind the man-made ingredients used in cheaper cosmetics and looking

for the quality and results that come from natural make up. Cosmetics that have been made using quality ingredients -

natural products close to the original state, and, whenever possible, organic certified.
